Excessive use of Instagram social network also means that we receive more and more notifications: if they gave me I like it, if someone started a live video or if someone mentioned me. This can sometimes be a bit overwhelming since we do not want to know everything that is happening or some specific notifications do not interest us.

How to know who viewed my Instagram video

This is why MsnTechBlog will explain step by step how to disable notifications on Instagram.

Instruction to turn off notifications on Instagram:

Disabling receiving Instagram notifications is the easiest task to do. You can simply follow three steps to turn off notifications on Instagram for everyone or except the person you follow. Let’s do it!

Access Instagram options page – Step 1

Open the Instagram application and enter your profile. Enter the Options menu by clicking on the icon located in the upper right corner of the screen represented by three vertical points.

Access Instagram Setting

Find Instagram notification settings – Step 2

Scroll down to the “Settings” section where you need to find the “Push Notifications” option. Press here.

Access Instagram Push Notifications

Disable notifications on Instagram – Step 3

Now you can configure Instagram notifications so that you can either turn off all types of notifications from all users of the application or get notifications from only those of people you follow or from everyone.

Let’s configure the following section as your desire:

  • Likes
  • Comments
  • Comments Likes
  • I like and comments on photos of you
  • New Followers
  • Accepted Follow Requests
  • Friends On Instagram
  • Instagram Direct Requests
  • Instagram Direct
  • Photos of You
  • Reminders
  • First Posts and Stories
  • Product Announcements
  • Ads
  • View Counts
  • Support Requests
  • Live Videos

On all these issues you can choose whether or not you receive notifications and if yes from whom you want to receive them. Mark with blue check the options you choose, in this case, Off.

Note: This method also serves to turn off only the notifications of people you do not follow by choosing the option “From people I follow” without deactivating notifications from every Instagram user completely.

That’s all to turn off notifications that you do not have any interest and that you do not want to get in the Instagram application.

  1. This is not correct information. This is how to turn off PUSH NOTIFICATIONS, not “notifications ON instagram” as all the text of the article would have you believe. People coming to this page are looking for how to turn off the notifications one receives WHILE ON THE INSTAGRAM APP – the little notification that drops down and says “so-n-so has started a live video” while you’re browsing instagram, not while you’re phone is idle. We’re not looking for how to turn off PUSH NOTIFICATIONS.

    • Ace, I really appreciate your comment. Soon I will update this article to turn off any kind of notifications on Instagram application.

Follow this instruction to stop receiving notifications of “someone started a live video” while using Instagram:

Profile >> Menu Button (Three horizontal lines) >> Settings >> Notifications >> Push Notifications >> Live Videos >> Off.

Try the above instructions and let us know if it works.
